QuickBooks Desktop hosting
Keep QuickBooks Desktop. Lose the server.
We put your QuickBooks Desktop files and software on a private cloud server. Your team logs in from any PC or Mac and gets the same menus, the same company files and the same Accountant’s Copy workflow. No VPN, no closet server, no forced move to Online.
15 minutes, no slides. $79/user/month, setup and migration included. Month-to-month.
Is QuickBooks Desktop going away? Here’s what Intuit has said
Some of it already has, on a set date. After 31 May 2026, Intuit stopped payroll, bank feeds, live support and security updates for QuickBooks Desktop 2023 and older. Those files still open. They just don’t connect to Intuit’s services anymore.
In August 2026, Intuit said Desktop 2024 has no announced end date. That’s the latest statement we have, and we’ll update this page if it changes.
One thing hosting can’t do
Hosting can’t bring those services back to a 2023 license. If you need payroll or bank feeds, you’ll need a newer version. We’ll tell you that on the call, not after you’ve signed.
QuickBooks Desktop versions we host
Pro, Premier, Accountant and Enterprise, from 2015 to the current release. For Enterprise specifics, see our QuickBooks Enterprise hosting page.
| Version | We host it | Intuit services |
|---|---|---|
| 2015 to 2023 | Yes | Payroll, bank feeds, support and security updates ended after 31 May 2026 |
| 2024 and later | Yes | No announced end date for 2024 (Intuit, Aug 2026) |
QuickBooks licenses: you bring your own.
What QuickBooks Online still doesn’t do for you
Online is fine for a lot of businesses. If you keep the books for other people, or run inventory through Enterprise, here’s what you’d give up.
| Task | QuickBooks Online | QuickBooks Desktop, hosted with us |
|---|---|---|
| Batch entry | Batch actions are limited | Batch Enter Transactions in Accountant and Enterprise: 300 bank lines in one screen |
| Year-end adjustments | No Accountant’s Copy. You work in their live books | Accountant’s Copy: the client keeps working while you adjust, then you merge |
| Reporting | Custom reports; deeper reporting needs QBO Advanced | Memorized report groups, plus Advanced Reporting in Enterprise |
| Inventory | FIFO tracking, no bin or lot tracking | Enterprise Advanced Inventory with sites, bins, and lot or serial tracking |
| Client files | One client’s books per browser session | Open two company files at once; each staffer works a different client at the same time |
Hosting keeps the Desktop column. QuickBooks itself doesn’t change. What changes is where it runs.
What you get when you host QuickBooks in the cloud with us
No VPN, no office PC left on
Staff log in with MFA from home, the office or a client’s conference room. Nobody remotes into the front desk computer at 8 p.m. again.
Fewer multi-user errors
QuickBooks and the company file sit on the same server. The office network path behind most H202 and H505 errors drops out of the picture.
Every client file in one place
Forty clients means forty .QBW files. On our server they live in one folder structure with one set of permissions, and Excel and Outlook run alongside for exports.
Backups you can actually restore
Server backups every 4 hours, kept 90 days. We test a restore every quarter, so the first restore isn’t the day you need it.
More capacity when it counts
The contract adds extra CPU and memory from January to April. That covers the week of March 15, when every client wants their books closed yesterday.
Uptime with a signature on it
A 99.99% SLA in the contract. Miss it and a credit lands on your next invoice automatically. No claim form, no deadline. Read the SLA
Who this is for, and who it isn’t
Bookkeepers and CPA firms with a stack of client files. Small businesses told to switch to Online who decided not to. Any office whose server is five years old and making noises.
If you’re happy on QuickBooks Online, you don’t need hosting. Our Managed IT plan ($89/user/month) looks after the laptops and email instead.

QuickBooks Desktop hosting questions
Can you host QuickBooks Desktop 2023 or older?
Yes, it runs fine. But Intuit’s payroll, bank feeds, support and security updates for those versions ended after 31 May 2026, and hosting doesn’t change that.
Will my staff need to learn anything new?
Only the login screen. Once they’re in, it’s the QuickBooks Desktop they already use.
How long does migration take?
Usually a weekend, not an hour. We move the company files, test multi-user mode and hand your team a working login before Monday.
Is Intuit forcing everyone onto QuickBooks Online?
Not based on anything announced. The cutoff covers 2023 and older. Intuit said in August 2026 that Desktop 2024 has no announced end date.
Do I still need a VPN?
No. You connect straight to your private server with MFA, from Windows or Mac.
What happens if we leave?
You’re month-to-month. We return every company file and backup in full, in a format any other host can load.
